Known Issues

The running list of what is broken, missing or half-built on this shard, and the things that look like bugs but are not.

Updated 2026-08-17

This page is the running list of what we know is broken, missing or half-built here. It is kept current so nobody wastes an evening on a bug we already found — everything repaired is on the bug fixes page.

Bugs you may hit

  • Magic drops from ordinary mobs come out at rank 0. The prefix and suffix lose their rank, so the enchantment is weaker than the name suggests. Signature drops from named monsters do carry a real rank.
  • Mobs ignore walls. Monsters have no line of sight, no pathfinding and no collision: they walk through walls and aggro through them.

Missing pieces

Designed or described elsewhere, and not built yet.

  • The sim adventurers have no society. They are permanently guildless: no guilds, no guild tags, no cities, no vendors, no banking. You cannot reach one either — /tell returns "There is no such player", and there is no trade, group invite or right-click menu. Healer sims never heal or buff.
  • The hotzone rotation is never announced. It moves every two hours with no broadcast; you get the map marker at login, so if you are already online when it moves, nothing tells you.
  • Named drops are not world-unique. The check meant to hold a signature item to one copy in the world was written and never wired up. The items are existing game items renamed and enchanted at drop time, since a new one would not render on an unpatched client.
  • Buildings cost nothing to keep. Weekly maintenance is off: the asset window still quotes an upkeep figure, none of it is charged, and nothing can decay or derank from missed upkeep.
  • Rank 7 mercenary contracts are probably out of reach. A contract's rank is capped by the level of the mob that dropped it, and everything we author stops at 65 — rank 7 needs a level-70 kill.

Rough edges

  • The contract tooltip is wrong, and contracts wear a borrowed appearance. Every contract carries the stock line telling you to drop it on a hireling slot in the Asset Manager, so the server chats the real instructions — double-click it — when one drops. Contracts are also drawn as the stock Sage contract, some panels still read "Sage", and a long rolled name is cut at 30 characters. Both fixes are written but unpublished.
  • The mercenary readout is a snapshot. The pet window is filled in at summon and never refreshed, so it can go stale.
  • The pet window is shared. With a class pet out, its buttons drive the pet, not the mercenary — which still fights, follows and heals on its own.
  • The forge progress bar fills about twice as fast as the work takes. The countdown beside it is correct.

Deferred work

One item is rated major: over days of uninterrupted uptime an internal cache fills and starts discarding live records, quietly stripping enchantments the sim population has earned.

Eight smaller items sit behind it: roughly 400 of the 600 sim identities earn nothing while out of the world, camp assignments do not survive a restart, and hunt parties converge on one zone when nobody is online. The rest is robustness and performance work with no symptom in play.

Not bugs

These arrive regularly and are intended.

  • A trainer's Upgrade button does nothing. Every trainer here already sits at the top rank.
  • "Too close to another tree" and "This territory is full." Tree spacing and the per-realm city cap are stock rules that still apply; Oblivion, Uthgaard, Maelstrom and Terminus cannot take cities.
  • Mercenary contracts cannot be slotted as a building hireling. They are double-clicked to summon.
  • Loot vanishing on a restart. Loot is rolled when a mob spawns, not when it dies, so a restart re-rolls anything nobody took — and a named monster you were fighting is gone.
  • Respawned guards turning invisible, wall collision stopping you in front of nothing, and recalling into a building dropping you to the ground. All three were investigated in the code and ruled out.

If you hit something that is not here, tell the admin in game, or pass it through whatever channel your group already uses to reach us — where you were and what you were doing is enough.
